Imagine a revolutionary hand held device that transcends the boundaries of conventional computing, people being able to experience and establish a deeper connection with nature despite being separated from it.
Based on a future scenario founded in the half earth principle in a highly digitalized and automated megacity separated from nature in the year 2099, citizens are experiencing a feeling of restlessness and desire to experience nature beyond the megacity.

Finished "provotype" of Nature´s coffin
A storyboard that portrays a day in the life of a citizen experiencing feelings of restlessness in a megacity separated from nature and later interacting with Nature´s coffin.
This speculative design concept aims to provide an emobyment that could establish a deeper connection with nature that can respond to the feeling of restlessness and desire to experience nature despite the separation from it.
Through the creation of speculative design artifacts such as provotypes and storyboards that compile the esseys aim (Anknytningen mellan människa och natur), this alternative fiction hopes to encourage discussion about how a deeper connection with nature can impact and respond to feelings of meaninglessness and enhance people’s wellbeing.
